Software Engineer – Licensing Team

About the job

Airties Licensing Team works closely with customer, focusing on tailoring, integration and maintenance of the Airties core wireless software into customer devices.

The role requires hands on experience with build, integration and debugging of embedded linux and open source repositories as well as eagerness to work hand-by-hand with tier-1 customers to gather requirements and help resolve issues found in the lab and live networks. It is an exciting opportunity to work on multiple topics around Linux and have a direct impact on deployment of Airties wireless products to millions of users throughout the world.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance activities, debugging of problems reported from the field or found in development cycles
  • Tailoring core software features and integrating them into product firmwares
  • Scoping and development of custom features based on customer specifications
  • Implementing new software architectures for various embedded middlewares.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or equivalent
  • 2 years of working experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in C programming
  • Conversational in spoken and written English
  • Ability to work under time constraints with verbal & written instructions of varying levels of detail and changing requirements
  • Self-start capabilities and ability to handle dynamic, very fast-pace work environment
  • Excellent problem analysis and solving skills
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated and highly ambitious

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Layer 2 networking Fundamentals
  • Good understanding of embedded Linux system internals, cross-compilation environments, device driver development, and performance tuning
  • Acquaintance with open source tools, philosophy and community
  • Familiarity with source control, bug tracking systems (Git, Jira, etc…)
