Introduction

The IT Security and Compliance Engineer plays a critical role within the IT Security Department, ensuring the organization’s systems and processes comply with regulatory and customer requirements. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining security standards (NIST, SOC2, 27001/2/3), policies and procedures, as well as coordinating compliance responses and assessments.

What you will do:

  • Take ownership of compliance responses and coordinate assessment procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and customer requirements
  • Lead vulnerability assessments and oversee remediation efforts to address identified vulnerabilities promptly
  • Coordinate penetration tests with external partners and oversee internal remediation efforts based on test results
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to compliance requirements across the organization, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Conduct periodic audits to assess compliance levels and identify areas for improvement, implementing necessary adjustments to enhance compliance posture
  • Continuously improve and fine-tune compliance response procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and ensure their implementation within the organization’s technologies and processes
  • Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation plans, and coordinate mitigation activities to address security risks effectively
  • Perform security assessments of partners and vendors to ensure the security of shared systems and data
  • Facilitate the coordination of service agreements and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) with external parties, ensuring compliance and security considerations are met

What you should ideally bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years hands-on experience with common cybersecurity frameworks such as ISO 27001/2/3, NIST, CIS, SOC2
  • Fluent in English communication, both verbally and in writing
  • Familiarity on cyber security standards such as NIST, CIS, OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK
  • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and developing risk mitigation actions
  • Experience in implementing and assessing security standards, procedures, and controls
  • Familiarity with GRC tools and processes for automating and monitoring information security controls is highly preferred
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and technical teams
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, while adhering to deadlines and regulatory requirements
