Software Engineer – WiFi Platform Development

The platform software teams develop generic Airties Software Platform that brings Airties wireless products to life and supports application developments for various markets. Team members work across the organization, focusing on productization of the software platform but also supporting application, integration and hardware R&D teams development. The role requires Linux kernel and device driver development competencies, as well as eagerness to bring up and port of embedded Linux platforms and implement and performance tune of wireless & ethernet device drivers. It is an exciting opportunity to work on various topics around Linux kernel and networking subsystems while working in a first-class team that masters 802.11 wireless standards, IP Networking, bridging and routing

What you will do:

  • Rapid board bring up and profile generation of new platforms
  • Improve and build out core software platform and architectures to support multiple hardware platforms
  • Port legacy software platform to next-generation SOC/hardware platforms
  • Improve and build out core software platform and architectures to support multiple hardware platforms
  • Bug fixing of existing packages and code base

What you should ideally bring:

  • BSc in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Proficiency in C programming
  • Good understanding of embedded Linux system internals, cross-compilation environments, device driver development, and performance tuning
  • Hands on experience with firmware debugging using a full range of test equipment, especially with Linux soft tools
  • Familiarity with shell and script languages,
  • Highly desired and has the ability to lead as well as work individually

Nice to Have

  • Expert about Unix network programming, systems programming, multi-threading.
  • Good understanding of computer architectures and real-time programming concepts
  • Acquaintance with open source tools, philosophy, and community
  • Being able to sniff and understand network traffic via wireshark.
  • Expert about GNU build system and open source packages
  • Familiarity with source control bug tracking tools (Git, Jira, etc…)
