ISTANBUL, Turkey – January 30, 2019 – Airties, the most widely deployed provider of managed in-home Wi-Fi solutions to global service providers today announced plans to acquire Technicolor’s (Euronext Paris: TCH; OTCQX: TCLRY) in-home Wi-Fi Management software business, a.k.a. Wireless Doctor, and related personnel, subject to customary closing conditions. Moving forward, the two companies also plan to partner across technology and sales to offer Smart Wi-Fi solutions to service providers globally. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Technicolor’s Wireless Doctor, previously known as Wi-Fi Doctor and Conductor, is a suite of cloud-based performance management software, embedded decision logic, and apps used by service providers to support field technicians, network engineers, customer care agents, marketing personnel, and data analysts to improve the in-home Wi-Fi experience of their subscribers. As part of the agreement, Airties will acquire the Wireless Doctor software portfolio, related intellectual property, approximately thirty (30) employees from Technicolor, and gain access to key relationships with existing Wireless Doctor customers and partners. The acquisition will be used to complement and integrate with Airties’ Remote Manager, a cloud-based optimization suite that provides real-time visibility and historical performance analysis to manage the consumer Wi-Fi experience. Airties’ Remote Manager and Wireless Doctor, individually and collectively, actively manage millions of homes around the globe today.

One of the most critical issues facing service providers today is the lack of visibility and control over their subscribers’ in-home Wi-Fi experience.

Philippe Alcaras, CEO of Airties

“One of the most critical issues facing service providers today is the lack of visibility and control over their subscribers’ in-home Wi-Fi experience,” said Philippe Alcaras, CEO of Airties. “We have been tremendously impressed by Technicolor’s software, intellectual property and personnel, and look forward to strengthening our position as the leader in Smart Wi-Fi solutions for service providers. We are also extremely excited to partner with Technicolor on ways to leverage our Smart Wi-Fi software and their product portfolio to serve both mutual and new customers around the globe.”

As we sought out strategic alternatives for our Wireless Doctor software business and the talented team behind it, we could not have found a better home than with Airties,

Luis Martinez-Amago, President and General Manager, Connected Home Division of Technicolor

“As we sought out strategic alternatives for our Wireless Doctor software business and the talented team behind it, we could not have found a better home than with Airties,” said Luis Martinez-Amago, President and General Manager, Connected Home Division of Technicolor. “The Smart Wi-Fi market is poised for exponential growth as the connected home environment becomes more complex and congested. The resulting new business agreement between Airties and Technicolor will provide service providers with ‘ready-to-go’ solutions that integrate the best products from two leading players in this space. This important new addition to our expanding HERO partnership program reflects Technicolor’s ongoing mission to collaborate and provide the services and devices that bring seamless entertainment experiences to homes everywhere.”

Airties’ Smart Wi-Fi software is designed to help operators upgrade in-home Wi-Fi performance and coverage, proactively fix and monitor Wi-Fi issues, and improve overall customer satisfaction. The software intelligently directs consumers’ devices to the best available channel and band (2.4GHz and 5GHz), based on real-time home network conditions to improve performance. It also enables gateways to serve as the Wi-Fi Mesh controller, lowering equipment investments for operators by reducing the number of extenders required.

The Wireless Doctor team is currently based in Belgium and will remain so after deal closure. In addition,

Airties today also announced the opening of a new product innovation and operations office located in Paris, France, to support increased demand for its products and services. Airties Collaborates with Broadcom on Wi-Fi 6 for Broadband Service Providers Worldwide

Partnerships

Summary

Airties’ Smart Wi-Fi software and cloud management software will be pre-integrated into Broadcom Wi-Fi 6 platforms for use in third-party gateways

Airties’ Mesh extenders will be powered by Broadcom Wi-Fi 6 chipsets

ISTANBUL, Turkey – December 20, 2018 – Ahead of CES® 2019, Airties, the most widely deployed provider of managed in-home Wi-Fi solutions to global service providers, today announced a strategic collaboration with Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ: AVGO), a global leader in high performance Wi-Fi solutions for home networking. Specifically, Airties’ Smart Wi-Fi software will be pre-integrated into Broadcom’s Wi-Fi 6 drivers, making it easier for operators to bring Airties’ solutions to third-party gateways. In addition, Airties will use Broadcom’s Wi-Fi 6 chipsets in a new class of Mesh extenders to be offered in 2019.

Wi-Fi 6 is expected to bring increased speed and capacity than the previous generation of Wi-Fi (802.11ac). It will also more efficiently support the increasing density of devices in the connected home with lower latency and enhanced battery life. Coupled with Airties’ Smart Wi-Fi software and cloud-based management software, operators can maximize and extend the capabilities of Broadcom’s Wi-Fi 6 solutions.

Broadcom’s Wi-Fi 6 chipsets will also be integrated with access to Airties’ Remote Manager, a cloud-based optimization suite that provides real-time visibility and historical performance analysis to manage the consumer Wi-Fi experience. This capability is key to get the best performance out of new Wi-Fi 6 devices because older legacy Wi-Fi devices remain in homes for many years. Service providers must be able to optimize performance based on the actual capabilities of their subscribers’ various devices. For example, based on real-world analysis from millions of households, Airties disclosed data earlier this summer that found 51.3% of devices in the home still use old 802.11n technology. For legacy and new Wi-Fi 6 devices, Airties Remote Manager maximizes responsiveness and performance by leveraging both cloud-based and localized network intelligence.

Our newest strategic effort with Broadcom will make it easier for operators to adopt Broadcom’s Wi-Fi 6 chipsets to have access to our industry-leading Smart Wi-Fi software and in-home management software platform.

Oz Yildirim, CMO of Airties

“Our newest strategic effort with Broadcom will make it easier for operators to adopt Broadcom’s Wi-Fi 6 chipsets to have access to our industry-leading Smart Wi-Fi software and in-home management software platform,” said Oz Yildirim, CMO of Airties. “We look forward to enabling service providers to leverage our software on third-party gateways and to bringing our own Wi-Fi 6 Mesh extenders to market in 2019. Powered by Broadcom’s latest 4×4 Wi-Fi 6 chipsets, these new extenders will continue our legacy of designing the kind of elegant and compact products that both operators and consumers demand.”

Wi-Fi 6 is the next great advancement in the evolution of Wi-Fi technology, and we are excited about its potential for broadband service providers around the globe.

Gregory Fischer, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Broadband Carrier Access, Broadcom.

“Wi-Fi 6 is the next great advancement in the evolution of Wi-Fi technology, and we are excited about its potential for broadband service providers around the globe,” said Gregory Fischer, senior vice president and general manager, Broadband Carrier Access, Broadcom. “Airties is a proven global leader in managed Wi-Fi software solutions, and the powerful combination of Broadcom’s Wi-Fi 6 and Airties’ Smart Wi-Fi software will enable operators to serve the super connected homes of today and tomorrow.”

Airties software actively manages more than 25 million homes around the globe. Airties’ technologies have been deployed by more than 50 service providers across 4 different continents. Airties will showcase its products and services at the upcoming CES 2019 show from January 8-10 at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.

Summary

Airties selected by Tier 1 operator for RDK-based deployment in 2019

Firmware upgrade will enable third-party gateways to improve in-home Wi-Fi performance and provide cloud-based performance management and analytics

ISTANBUL, Turkey – October 18, 2018 – In advance of the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® and Broadband World Forum conferences next week, Airties, the most widely deployed provider of managed Wi-Fi Mesh solutions to global service providers, announced plans to make its managed Wi-Fi solution available for devices running the RDK software platform in Q1 2019. The company also disclosed that a Tier 1 operator expects to deploy Airties’ software on RDK-based CPE in the coming year.

We’ve seen significant interest in RDK from service providers around the globe in recent months.

Philippe Alcaras, CEO of Airties

“We’ve seen significant interest in RDK from service providers around the globe in recent months,” said Philippe Alcaras, CEO of Airties. “Operators want greater standardization and transparency, and RDK provides core technical functionality to make that easier. With this forthcoming integration, operators using RDK will easily be able to deploy Airties’ Managed Wi-Fi Mesh software on their broadband CPE, and it will be deployed by a Tier 1 operator in the near future. Today’s announcement further demonstrates our commitment to continuous product innovation, and providing operators with more options to help them get Wi-Fi under control.”

Airties is a recognized global leader for in-home Wi-Fi, and we are delighted that they have committed to making Airties’ Managed Wi-Fi Mesh software run on the RDK platform for service providers.

Steve Heeb, President and General Manager of RDK Management

“Airties is a recognized global leader for in-home Wi-Fi, and we are delighted that they have committed to making Airties’ Managed Wi-Fi Mesh software run on the RDK platform for service providers,” said Steve Heeb, President and General Manager of RDK Management. “Since the RDK is an open source software platform for the connected home, improving the home Wi-Fi experience through new applications and analytics is of paramount importance.”

RDK software resides on the chipsets within CPE, below the application and services layer, and enables video and broadband providers to standardize certain technical functionality. The open source software provides a common interface to SoCs, acting as a kind of universal SoC adapter. Specifically, the RDK software solution provides a common method to manage various broadband functions on gateways, such as home-networking interfaces, routing, device management, telemetry, and more.

Airties’ software solution will be deployed atop the RDK software layer. Airties’ software is portable across chipset and CPE vendors as a firmware update, enabling operators to better manage in-home Wi-Fi and make gateway Wi-Fi smarter. The software automatically “steers” consumers’ devices (laptops, tablets, smartphones, game systems, smart home devices, etc.) to the best available channel and band (2.4GHz and 5GHz), based on real-time network conditions in a home. It also includes access to Airties’ Remote Manager, a cloud-based Wi-Fi optimization software suite that provides real-time and historical performance data and analytics to proactively manage the consumer in-home Wi-Fi experience. Notably, operators can experience these benefits on a single gateway deployment, or in homes with Wi-Fi Mesh extenders.

Airties enables service providers with solutions to fix their subscribers’ in-home Wi-Fi issues and create premium Wi-Fi services. More than 25 million homes are powered by Airties’ technologies across more than 50 service providers across 4 different continents. With Airties, service providers can seize new opportunities to improve customer satisfaction, drive incremental revenue, and differentiate with new classes of premium Wi-Fi services.

At the upcoming SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Atlanta from October 22-25, Airties will be demonstrating its Managed Wi-Fi Solution, Mesh Extenders, and Mesh enabled set-top boxes on the show floor in booth 2130. At the Broadband World Forum in Berlin from October 23-25, Airties will be at stand D109. Additional information about Airties is available at www.Airties.com. More and more ISPs are acknowledging that the home Internet experience is wireless, and that the only way to secure good user experiences is to provide high-quality Wi-Fi with integrated management.

Jan Pedro Tumusok, CEO of Eye Networks

Eye Networks, a reseller of high-quality network solutions to the Norwegian telecom industry, is the exclusive B2B reseller for Airties in Norway since 2010, and starting this year also offers Airties’ Wi-Fi solutions to the Finnish, Swedish, and Danish markets. “More and more ISPs are acknowledging that the home Internet experience is wireless, and that the only way to secure good user experiences is to provide high-quality Wi-Fi with integrated management,” said Jan Pedro Tumusok, CEO, Eye Networks. “We are thrilled and proud to be part of this sea-change, and to see Get and other Scandinavian ISPs at the very forefront.”

And, unlike other multi-AP approaches, Airties Mesh solution provides alternative data paths within the home network designed to support high-bandwidth applications such as IPTV and OTT, with carrier-grade QoS. Airties also enables service providers to support legacy gateways with an embedded Mesh software update, and provides advanced interference and congestion management capabilities within the home. In addition, Airties’ local and cloud-based management software products are designed specifically to support the installation, network engineering, and customer care teams of service providers. With Airties, service providers can seize new opportunities to improve customer satisfaction, drive incremental revenue, and differentiate with new classes of premium Wi-Fi services.

ISTANBUL & SINGAPORE – October 24, 2017Airties Wireless Networks, a leading international provider of premium in-home wireless systems and set-top box solutions, today announced at the Broadband World Forum 2017 in Istanbul that it has signed a new two-year contract to supply Singtel, Asia’s leading communications technology group, an ultra-fast whole-home Wi-Fi Mesh.

Unlike traditional Wi-Fi, which relies on a single Wi-Fi Access Point (AP) on a home gateways and routers, Singtel uses Airties’ multiple Mesh APs (extenders) to create an intelligent Wi-Fi network with faster connection speeds and a broader range of consistent, whole-home Internet coverage.

Under this new agreement, Airties will supply Singtel with its new Managed Mesh system which includes the recently announced Air 4930. These new 2.5Gbps Wi-Fi Mesh extenders are Airties’ fastest extenders to date. In addition, Airties’ Mesh Software ensures devices continually connect to the best available extender and frequency band (2.4GHz and 5GHz), based on real-time network usage. Singtel will also have access to Airties’ Remote Manager, a cloud-based performance management platform, which helps optimize in-home Wi-Fi for subscribers.

Singtel is widely-recognized for delivering innovative in-home experiences and superior broadband services to millions of subscribers.

Philippe Alcaras, CEO of Airties

“Singtel is widely-recognized for delivering innovative in-home experiences and superior broadband services to millions of subscribers,” said Philippe Alcaras, CEO of Airties. “We share a common vision that internet connections must not only be fast, but consistently fast throughout the subscribers’ homes – which requires a Managed Wi-Fi Mesh solution. We’re very honoured to be selected again to help Singtel serve the super-connected home of today, and tomorrow.”

A survey of 1,050 respondents, with multiple Wi-Fi users per home, commissioned by Airties and conducted by Qualtrics, found that seventy-eight percent (78%) of respondents would prefer if their Internet Service Providers provided them with their in-home Wi-Fi networking gear, versus purchasing it themselves. The survey also found that the majority of consumers would consider upgrading their Internet service plans, or paying extra, for a premium Wi-Fi experience that improves performance throughout the entire home.

At the Broadband World Forum in Berlin, Airties will host a private lunch for service providers and technology partners on Wednesday, October 25th from 12:20pm-1:30pm in meeting room MR12.
